Located at Thuroo Kote in Reasi district, Bua Jamass Devasthan is one of Thakurs' sacred shrines and KULDEVI (Clan Deity).
The sacred site is 6850 feet above sea level and is tucked away in the tranquil hills and verdant forests of the Pir Panjal foothills. The Devasthan occupies 40 kanals of land in Khasra No-801. The Devasthan was first constructed by Woods and has subsequently undergone a number of restorations. When Thakurs' ancestors initially built the devasthan before 1947, all the idols (Simb) and other pindis were installed as per the rituals of clan.
The "BUA JAMASS DEVASTHAN TRUST" is managing all affairs of Devasthan. TRUST's chairman is Sansar Chand, son of Sukhi Ram, who is also Devasthan's Pujari (Pran). For Devasthan's general management and development, Narian Singh, Baldev Singh, Karnail Singh, and Sanjay Kumar are the other TRUST members on the behalf of whole baradari. Members of the baradari visit devasthan, particularly during the birth of a new child, marriage rituals or when wishes for prosperity in life are fulfilled. On other important occasions, devotees from Thuroo village and surrounding areas are drawn to the sacred shrine. Additionally, a committee headed by Pritam Singh has been established to manage Devasthan concerns and to maintain cleanliness and sanitation during yatra.
